Curiosity Collage #33
We seldom have the time to look closely at objects that are both decorative and useful that have been thoughtfully designed and made by skilled craftsman over the many years - drawer handles, coins, military buttons, and tiny, delicate gears inside clocks…I CELEBRATE THESE!
Please scroll through the photos (there is a small arrow on the edge of the photos) to find the tag that describes every item in the collage. On the brown tag I have divided objects into Artifacts, Antiques - over 100 yrs old, and Vintage - over 40 years old. I also have $ next to things that are valuable enough to sell separately, but I love using items that are really beautiful and don’t care if I use things that are too valuable.
This is one of my favorite collages because it is just so eclectic. It has Anasazi (ancient Pueblo) pottery sherds from husbands archaeology digs in Southern Colorado. It also has an older 10 pound note from Egypt. There are great old keys, a Victorian cast iron door hinge, lots of little clock parts and a rustic old lock. It has a great feel to it.
Natural wood frame is square - 15 × 15’’
