Curiosity Collage #41
We seldom have the time to look closely at objects that are both decorative and useful that have been thoughtfully designed and made by skilled craftsman over the many years - drawer handles, coins, military buttons, and tiny, delicate gears inside clocks…I CELEBRATE THESE!
Please scroll through the photos (there is a small arrow on the edge of the photos) to find the tag that describes every item in the collage. On the brown tag I have divided objects into Artifacts, Antiques - over 100 yrs old, and Vintage - over 40 years old. I also have $ next to things that are valuable enough to sell separately, but I love using items that are really beautiful and don’t care if I use things that are too valuable.
This a family antique wood frame with gold paint. The brass drawer handles and extra bail handle are so much fun and fancy. I added 2 very old solid brass cupboard door pulls - the one with the fan shape is most rare. There are various clock parts here including one of the clappers (on the thinnest crooked wire) for clock chime. The most special military button is from England for the Royal army. There is a skeleton key, clock key. and old typewriter key. Several foreign coins - I like the fancy British ones.
This is 14 ½ x 16 1/2”
