Curiosity Collage #49
We seldom have the time to look closely at objects that are both decorative and useful that have been thoughtfully designed and made by skilled craftsman over the many years - drawer handles, coins, military buttons, and tiny, delicate gears inside clocks…I CELEBRATE THESE!
Please scroll through the photos (there is a small arrow on the edge of the photos) to find the tag that describes every item in the collage. On the brown tag I have divided objects into Artifacts, Antiques - over 100 yrs old, and Vintage - over 40 years old. I also have $ next to things that are valuable enough to sell separately, but I love using items that are really beautiful and don’t care if I use things that are too valuable.
This collage has a muted gold frame. The 3 pressed brass drawer handles are extra fancy and from the Victorian age - 1800’s. Also a brass cupboard door pull and an angel piece from a mantle clock. This has Anasazi (ancient Pueblo} pottery sherds from southern Colorado and a WWII Army Air Corps button (pre Air Force} and lots of little odds and ends.
